If a party has a sloganising approach to advertising it's got to be simple: Labour isn't working. A lot of people understood the Tories' "Are you thinking what we're thinking?" I didn't, because I wasn't thinking what they were thinking. Labour's ads attacking Rishi Sunak on grounds of his alleged lack of willingness to jail paedophiles make you think, "What?! I don't think Sunak wants to leave sex offenders uncaught and unpunished. Why is Labour saying this? It's not very nice." These ads are too difficult to unpack and understand. Labour should certainly not attack Mrs Sunak who now pays her tax. If she doesn't, an ad campaign is not the way to tackle it because it's bullying and bad behaviour. It's very disappointing.
